This feature was released a few weeks ago, but we did not post about it here. We are doing that now.  The new Options menu for newsfeed notes has been updated.  The "Remove" link for the main thread lives there now.  A new Edit Note option has been added! Yes, that's right -- you can finally edit your Notebook notes right here from the newsfeed. Even  er, you'll see your edits previewed live, just like when posting the initial note. (Editing should also work from your notebook and from a {note} lightbox.) Notes that have been edited will display the original time of the post with an Edited notation after the time. Mousing-over the "Edited" text will reveal the time of the most recent edit. You can not edit comments on notes yet. This is only for the main note at the top of a thread. And trying to edit a note after posting a comment to it fails at the moment. This has been pretty thoroughly tested, but as with all new releases, if you find a bug, please post here: "Bug Reporting"  . |
| You may have noticed the new Options mini-menu that shows when you mouse-over a newsfeed note. In that menu, you'll now find: - the note's ID - the note's content rating - "hide this post" - "hide this member" Most importantly, the Hide system has been updated to allow the hiding of individual posts; previously, clicking "Hide" hid everything from a favorite member. Now, you can hide anything within your personal or community newsfeed.  With this change, we have also cleared all previous "hides" in the newsfeed system, so that everyone has a fresh start with the new system. You can easily hide a member again from the options menu. (Please note this is still separate from blocking and ignoring; those functions stand on their own and haven't been touched. Blocked and/or ignored members will never show in your newsfeed.) |
